Erin Stevens
Erin is credited with bringing the Father of Lindy Hop, Frankie Manning, out of dance retirement in the 1980’s. She’s the one dancing in the teaching video’s with Frankie! Together they traveled extensively, teaching Lindy Hop across the United States, Australia, Singapore, Japan and throughout Europe. Erin, along with her sister Tami, opened their own dance school (PBDA) in 1983. They were greatly influential in igniting the 2nd era of Swing during the 90s, and ran “Swing Camp Catalina” on Catalina Island from 1994-2024, featuring teachers (including Frankie Manning) and performers from around the world, and a student attendance of over 1800. For many years Erin was a featured instructor/performer for Walt Disney Productions, and Disneyland hosting Carnation Plaza's "Jump Jive Boogie Swing Party" & "Mickey's Mambo Club.” Erin was a featured soloist for the American Movie Classics television special "Gotta Dance,” and in 1998 she was flown to Washington D.C. to dance at the White House for President Clinton. Erin continues to run PBDA, teaching large weekly Lindy Hop classes in Pasadena, and every Saturday night she and her sister host a swing dance with amazing live bands, and always finish the night with the Shim Sham in Frankie’s honor. She’s very excited to travel to China for the first time!
